Alongside our Senchadō experiences, Romanza houses a small shop that brings together a selection of Japanese crafts and handmade goods.
Here you can find teas from different regions of Japan, carefully made teaware and ceramics, as well as handmade pieces created from vintage kimono textiles. The selection changes over time, with each category offering a different way to encounter Japanese materials, techniques, and design.

The teaware at Romanza is handmade by ceramic artists who specialize in pieces for preparing and serving tea. Each piece is shaped with its use in mind — from the balance and weight of a teapot to the way a cup feels in the hand and pours.
Our selection brings together work by different artists, each with their own approach to materials, form, and function. Some pieces are designed specifically for Senchadō, while others belong more broadly to the world of Japanese tea.
Their value lies in the thought behind their apparent simplicity: careful proportions, considered details, and the skill of the person who made them.
In our gallery, we don't simply display “objects,” but pieces made to be used, appreciated, and understood over time.
Some of the handmade pieces at Romanza begin with vintage kimono fabrics, chosen for their colours, patterns, and manufacture technique. Fabrics that are no longer worn as kimono are carefully transformed into pouches, fukusa, drawstring bags, and other small pieces.
Working with vintage textiles means that no two pieces are quite the same. A pattern may appear differently depending on how the fabric is cut, while details of the original kimono can sometimes remain visible in the finished piece.
It is a simple transformation, but one that allows beautiful textiles to take on a new form — while its original beauty and history remain part of the fabric.

Romanza is also a working tea salon, so there may be times when a Senchadō experience is taking place. You are welcome to enter and browse quietly, but if we are serving guests, we may not be able to assist you immediately.
